McSchool

This "intervention program" will be required for 90 minutes each day for all K-5 students at a charter school in Alamo, Texas. The school will have no Spanish, music, art, or science lab, and will have physical education only three days each week.

The video looks like a parody of school privatization. After all, the kids are playing Space Invaders (like its 1979) while the narrator brags about "targeted instruction" and uses the vacuous term "intervention program" four times in under one minute. Sadly, this bragging is real, and the school is a charter school in an extremely low-income district in Texas in which I used to live.

This is the future of school privatization, and some people are overjoyed.
